Celebrating a Century of Impact
This year, we celebrate 100 years of United Way's presence in Southeast Minnesota - a century of people coming together to lift one another up, solve problems, and create a stronger, more resilient community. What began in 1925 as the Community Chest of Rochester has grown into a regional force for good, investing more than $150 million in vital programs that improve lives.
This incredible impact has been made possible by the generosity of thousands of individuals, businesses, and community organizations that have fueled our mission over the past century. The $150 million invested in Southeast Minnesota isn't government funding - it's the result of people voluntarily choosing to give back.
From workplace campaigns at companies like Mayo Clinic, IBM, McNeilus Truck and Manufacturing, and hundreds of other local organizations, to individual donors making small but meaningful contributions, every dollar represents a commitment to making our community stronger.
This tradition of generosity has ensured that families in crisis have had a place to turn, children have had access to opportunities, and our region has remained strong through economic and social change.
As we celebrate this historic milestone, we recognize that our work is far from done. The same values that shaped our past - collaboration, resilience, and forward-thinking solutions - will guide us into the future.
Together, we will build on our century-long legacy and shape a stronger, more resilient Southeast Minnesota.
